"Pop art is not 'American' painting but actually Industrial painting."

-With his unique artistic style, Lichtenstein used his 'comic book technique' to work in art & design.

-His technique included the repeated theme of Ben-Day dots in order to emulate comic books at the time.

Intro

Roy Lichtenstein was first interested in art & design as a hobby in grade school. After graduating from school, he decided to pursue a degree in his passion for art-studies but to his surprise, he was interrupted by the need for drafted young men in the spark of WWII. After returning back home, Lichtenstein became an art instructor and became very intrigued of the abstract expressionism style. The different types of artistic styles of the time varied from artist to artist; Lichtenstein's style became innovative, distinct, and much critiqued by its originality, but nonetheless, his name would go down onto art history textbooks because of his legacy in conveying clever underlying meanings in his artworks.
